Message from the Chairwoman
Welcome to our website!
The Children and Families Commission of San Bernardino (also known as First 5 San
Bernardino) focuses on providing children, ages 0 to 5, and their families with
the knowledge and tools that offer our county’s youngest residents the best possible
start in life. Working with nearly 70 partner agencies our emphasis is on providing
best practices and programs in the areas of:
- Education
- Healthcare
- School Readiness
- Special Needs
Priorities include medical and dental care, parenting education, and
literacy programs that are crucial in helping First 5 families realize the dreams
of their children becoming healthy, successful adults.
Throughout the website we highlight our collaborations and the available programs
and services they provide. As well the site formats public awareness of the important
role First 5 San Bernardino plays in building stronger communities. In all that
we do we look to the future, envisioning the children we serve today as the healthy,
educated, productive, positive adult leaders of tomorrow.

any other questions call our office or attend our monthly Commission meetings, held
the first Wednesday of every month starting at 3:30PM in the Covington Chambers
of the San Bernardino County Government Center in the City of San Bernardino.
